PGA Tour | Thursday 27 March | Memorial Park Golf Club

Two weeks out from Augusta, the Houston Open offers a final chance for fine-tuning. With stars like Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy leading the betting, I’ve decided to take a look elsewhere for value in a tournament that usually springs a surprise winner.

Houston Texas Open Tournament Odds:

  • Scottie Scheffler- 4.50
  • Rory McIlroy- 8.50
  • David Thompson- 25.00
  • Aaron Rai- 25.00
  • Sungjae Im- 30.00
  • Wyndham Clark- 30.00

Here are three names worth backing in Houston this week.

Finau Returns to His Happy Place

Tony Finau loves it here. The big hitter from Utah won at Memorial Park in 2022 and came close again last year, finishing T2. He’s also carded a 62 in each of his last two starts on this track—serious scoring potential.

While Finau missed the cut at The Players, he did finish fifth at the Genesis Invitational in February after a rough opening round. If the putter warms up, he could be back in contention come Sunday.

✅ Tip: Tony Finau- 30.00

Smalley One to Watch

Alex Smalley might not be a household name yet, but he’s been one of the most consistent players on Tour in 2025. He’s made six of eight cuts this year with a worst finish of 21st in those events.

The Duke alum also has course history, finishing fourth here in 2022 and 15th the year before. With form and familiarity, Smalley looks a solid value play at 55.00.

✅ Tip: Alex Smalley- 55.00

Knapp’s Time to Shine?

Jake Knapp shot a jaw-dropping 59 to open the Cognizant Classic, eventually finishing sixth. Since then, he’s held his own with a T12 at The Players and a T17 at the Genesis.

Last week’s missed cut at the Valspar could be a blip, and if he bounces back here, he’s more than capable of contending. At 70.00, there’s plenty of upside.

✅ Tip: Jake Knapp- 70.00
