Ludvig Aberg ticks every box – elite off the tee, composed under pressure, and gaining form again after a blip at the PGA. His ball-striking over the weekend in Canada was immaculate, and he’s already impressed at Pinehurst and Torrey Pines.
Ranked second off the tee last week. Green in regulation game trending up.
Verdict: Huge potential and trending in the right direction. Could break through at Oakmont.
US Open- Niemann’s Time – Confident & Contending
Joaquin Niemann is quietly building a major résumé. After finishing 8th at the PGA, he’s now 5/5 for made cuts in majors and thriving in US conditions. His win last week in Virginia gives him even more momentum.
Great US Open record for making cuts. Familiar with Poa greens.
Verdict: Strong driver with a reliable short game. Could surprise a few.
US Open- Cantlay – The Underrated US Open Specialist
Patrick Cantlay might be flying under the radar, but he has three straight top-15 finishes in this event. His driver’s been heating up, and 12th at Muirfield was a solid return.
Total driving stats on the up. Excellent approach numbers.
Verdict: Ready for a major breakthrough. The price is too big.

Rain could soften conditions early in the week, giving accurate, strong drivers the upper hand. That suits Rahm, Aberg, Niemann, and Cantlay perfectly. Avoid inconsistent ball strikers and wild drivers – this course punishes misses ruthlessly.
Keep an eye on weather updates and tee times – early starters might get the best of the conditions Thursday/Friday.
